For over a century, film was the primary medium used by our families to document the important events, the people and the places in their lives. These photographs are much more than simple records of a point in time, they are the visual images that connect us to our families and friends; they hold our memories and stir our emotions. Older family photographs provide us with links to our past so that we may understand our own personal histories.

These images are amongst our most valuable personal possessions and we are universally saddened if they become lost or destroyed. Unless they are very carefully looked after, the very nature of the materials used in their creation causes them to deteriorate over time. Yet unknowingly, we keep them in places that accelerate the damage: the dusty attic, the damp basement, framed in a sunlit room and between the pages of unsuitable albums where they are affected by adhesives and chemicals. Fortunately, the advent of digital capture and restoration tools has enabled us not only to arrest the decay but in many cases to return the images to their original state and once digitized, images can be protected, preserved and shared more easily.

To this end, Philip Warner Family Archive Services provides clients with a premium, bespoke and expert approach to address their collections of family photographs and other media. Making digitally restored copies is a practical consideration that will protect and insure against loss but more importantly, it is a gift to current and future generations that brings to life the very fabric of a family's past.
